Dennis Gowin, MA, LMHC, NCC
After spending 25 years building a CPA/Litigation Support practice, God called Dennis to use the skills he had developed in a counseling environment. The founder of Discovery Counseling, Dennis is a Board Certified Licensed Mental Health Counselor in both Florida and Virginia. He received his business degree from George Washington University in Washington DC and received his MA in Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary.
Cheryl Eastlund Gowin, MBA
Cheryl is working on her second career. She has moved from “C” level corporate management to counseling with a degree from Liberty University. She is currently enrolled at NCU in their PhD program. Cheryl brings her life experience to individuals and couples as their struggle with issues of daily life.
Andy Blanchard, MA, LMHC
Andy has earned a Masters in Counseling from Reformed
Theological Seminary in Orlando, FL. As a Licensed
Mental Health Counselor with thousands of hours of professional
counseling experience, Andy works with individuals, couples,
and groups in the Orlando area. Andy works with adults
in every stage of life and, with over 8 years experience
in youth ministry, he is qualified to handle complicated
adolescent issues. Prior to a career in counseling,
Andy earned a BA in Mathematics and Religious Studies from
St. Olaf College.
Renata Cerveira, MA
Renata Cerveira earned her Masters Degree in Counseling from Rollins College. She is a registered Mental Health Counselor Intern with the State of Florida. Renata has years of experience working with children and adolescents with learning difficulties. Also she has experience working with couples and group therapy. Renata is also fluent in Portuguese and Spanish. Besides her Masters degree, Renata earned her BA in Psychology with minors in Anthropology and Sociology from Rollins College.
Christopher Christmas, MA
Christopher Christmas is a Registered Mental Health Counselor
Intern with the State of Florida and is pursuing his license.
He graduated with his Masters in Counseling from Reformed
Theological Seminary. Before pursuing his advanced degree
Christopher was already working in the mental health field,
and he has been doing so continuously with adolescents,
adults, couples, and groups for nearly 5 years at La Amistad
Behavioral Health Services. In addition to his work experiences
in mental health, he has always had a passion for helping
people through church ministry, worldwide missions, and
leadership development. Christopher earned his BA in Speech
Communications and Photojournalism from Ball State University.
Angie Friedman, MA
Angie is a graduate of Rollins College with her Masters
in Mental Health Counseling. She obtained her undergraduate
degree in Psychology from University of Central Florida. She
has a strong commitment and desire to work with couples
and families. She has obtained experience with couples
and families by assisting her church with their young couple’s
program and by working with adolescents and their families
at the Center for Drug Free Living. She thoroughly
enjoys helping couples, families, and individuals make
a difference in their lives.
Vicki M. Wotring, MSW, CADC
Vicki earned her Masters in Social Work from Loyola University in Chicago, IL. She also earned a certification in addictions from Montay College in Chicago and her BA from Trinity Evangelical University in Deerfield, IL. with a minor in Psychology. She is a Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern in Florida. She has been a leader of youth programs, was a Director of Adult Education, and has led small groups for women and couples. She is gifted in teaching, has been on several leadership and presenting teams for retreats and has done extensive public speaking. As a person in recovery, her work involves having a heart and passion in helping individuals, couples and families overcome the grip of addictions and to claim victory and celebration for their lives. She has a heart for being used as a therapist in bringing restoration and purification to couples relationships. Having worked at a nationally renowned treatment center she has been trained in doing individual, couples and family systems work and the treatment of many different addictions.
Sheryl Chapman
Sheryl, a Registered Mental Health Intern, is a graduate of Reformed Theological Seminary with a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling. She received her Bachelors degree from the University of Florida in Education. Her passion is to help people become familiar with who God has made them to be and to help them grow out of who they have made themselves to be. Whether it be to improve their relationship with their spouse, become a better parent or grow closer to God through a particular struggle that has come their way; her desire is to help individuals, couples and families find healing and restoration in their lives. Sheryl is a home-schooling mom of 3 and has been married for 15 years.
